Stretch Marks Treatment

Stretch marks (also called striae) occur in both males and females, but are more prevalent in women, with up to 90% experiencing stretch marks during pregnancy. Striae can impact your body confidence and the way you would like to dress or live your life. The first step in effective treatment is to book a free consultation with our highly trained staff. You can call our friendly team on 1300 896 834 or book online.

This page examines what stretch marks are, what causes them and the advantages of using the eTwo SublativeTM Fractionated Radio Frequency Treatment System.

What are Stretch Marks?

Stretch Marks are scars caused by the overstretching of the skin and the dermis (second layer of skin) tearing. Initially, they appear as multiple raised, red lines and can occur on the bottom, hips, thighs, knees, calves, lower back, abdomen or breasts. Men can have stretch marks around the abdomen and even around the chest and arms if they experience weight gain, sometimes from weight training. Over time the colour gradually fades to purple, then to white.

There are three stages of stretch mark development:

  • Acute – raised red lines
  • Sub-acute – the stretch marks become flat and fade to purple
  • Chronic – white or lightly coloured stretch marks

SublativeTM Technology Treating Stretch Marks

SublativeTM technology is neither laser nor light based. Instead, this a unique FDA cleared technology using fractionated bi-polar radio frequency directed to the skin in the form of a matrix.

The radio frequency energy works by controlled, deep heating of the dermis (second layer of skin). The energy is ‘fractionated’ – applied to the skin in a grid pattern – dividing the energy into smaller columns that produce controlled microscopic damage in the dermis, triggering a rapid process of repair. The destroyed stretch mark tissue is replaced with new collagen and elastin producing cells.

Post Treatment Care

Your skin will be slightly to moderately red immediately following the procedure. This typically lasts up to 2-3 days, however, it may vary per individual.

The use of cleansers or topical products should be avoided for at least 24 hours post treatment.

A normal skincare regimen can be used once the skin has completely healed.

It is highly recommended to use the home use Skinrolla by Medik8 alongside daily application of topical Vitamin C and A serums for the acceleration of regenerative process and consolidation of procedure results.

Our staff are available to provide further information to you during your initial free consultation.
