Scarring form acne can occur on the face, neck, shoulders and back – most of which are highly visible at all times so it’s no wonder that acne scarring can have such an impact on a person’s confidence and self esteem. With vastly improved medical device technology in the cosmetic and aesthetic industry over the last decade, we have seen an explosion in people regaining their confidence by improving the look and texture of their skin.
To help you better understand Sublative treatment for acne scars, we have compiled a list of our most popular frequently asked questions.
Sublative FAQs
What is Sublative?
Sublative treatment remodels the scar tissue and stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin for smoother skin. The key benefit of Sublative treatment is that there is minimal recovery period, compared to alternative treatments that are very aggressive on the skin and require days to weeks of healing.
How does it work?
Sublative treatment uses radio frequency to get deep into the dermis (the second layer of the skin) where it is needed to have the greatest impact on the scar tissue.
How much does it cost?

What are the side effects?
There is minimal downtime with Sublative™ treatment, it’s a straight forward, walk in, walk out treatment. Following treatment your skin will be slightly red and will have tiny pinhole marks. The marks fade over the days following treatment and generally take 2-4 weeks to resolve.
How does Sublative treatment feel?
Most patients feel a warm, prickly sensation. After treatment a pink or “sunburn” appearance and feeling is common. Topical anaesthetic and cooling cream are often used to reduce discomfort during treatment.
When will I see results?
Immediately after the treatment, you may notice tone and texture improvements as a result of increased levels of beneficial collagen and new healthy skin cells which are produced. With the treatment’s dermal impact, mild to moderate wrinkles and superficial skin discolorations are reduced.
How many treatments will I need?
Typically, 3 to 5 treatments, 4 to 6 weeks apart are needed depending on the severity of your scars.
Am I a suitable candidate for Sublative?
Sublative treatment is safe for all skin types.
